Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies

Little Village Preschool uses the Creative Curriculum. This curriculum was designed with the fact in mind that children learn best by doing and our goal is to teach your child to be an enthusiastic learner.  We want to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners.

Our curriculum identifies goals in all areas of early childhood development:

  • Social – helping children feel comfortable in school, trust their new environment, make friends, and feel that they are part of a group

  • Emotional – helping children experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self control, and have a positive attitude

  • Cognitive – helping children become confident learners by letting them try out their own ideas and experience success, problem solving, asking questions, and using words to describe their thoughts

  • Physical – helping children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident in what their bodies can do

The activities that we plan, the way that the center is organized, toys and manipulatives, our daily schedule, and communication are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum.

We have put together a few sample activities and explained what your child is learning by engaging in each one.
